Available in Base and Extended Editions
Turbine Video Engine SDK is available in two editions with the following major differences:
- The Extended Edition includes the FLV lossless codec.
- The Extended Edition encodes using CBR, VBR1, VBR2 and Constant Quality methods while the Base Edition uses CBR.
- The Extended Edition has control over more encoding parameters and filters.
- The Extended Edition has more control over audio settings.
- The Base Edition can not encode Cue Points neither Metadata.
- The Extended Edition includes more players.
- The base Edition can not export frames as JPEG.

New AVC / H.264 Video Codec
TVE SDK is available with three different codecs:
- F4V (AVC / H.264) - the new AVC / H.264 is a state-of-the-art video codec, which delivers stunning quality at remarkably low data rates;
- lossy FLV - the standard FLV codec, suitable for most standard video applications;
- and lossless FLV - lossless FLV codec which is best suitable for screen capture type applications. This codec is only included in the Extended Edition.

TVE SDK licensing is designed to be very simple and affordable.
| 1Each Turbine Video Engine SDK license, when used to develop an application that runs on a Server, allows: |
- Use in any number of processors in one physical machine
- Unlimited number of developers
- Unlimited use of the evaluation version in one development/test machine, for development/testing purposes
- Use in one web site or in one physical server machine - for multiple physical servers or servers with multiple web sites, additional licenses are needed

| 2Each Turbine Video Engine SDK license, when used to develop a Desktop (non-server) application, allows: |
- Unlimited number of developers
- Developing of one single application. Additional licenses are required for different applications
- Distribution of the TVE SDK dll binary "royalty free" with one single application only when all of the following terms are met:
- Your application adds significant and primary functionality to TVE SDK and the primary functionality of your software is not video conversion to Flash
- Your end users are prevented from using TVE SDK programmatically, for development purposes, or further redistribution and usage
- Your application may not, in the opinion of Blue Pacific Software, directly compete with Turbine Video Engine SDK or Turbine Video Encoder. If in doubt, please ask us.

Please note that you may have additional IP licensing costs if you are using H.264. The IP licensing terms are determined by MPEG-LA. Further information is available at the Adobe website.
